  • Sunglasses with croakies

Sailing In July and August:

  • Sunglasses with croakies
  • Sunscreen
  • Rubber-soled deck shoes or sneakers. (no black-soled jogging shoes please!)

1. Is sailing in the Bay likely to make me seasick? Seasickness is never a problem, but if you feel better taking motion sickness medicine feel free, you should do so one hour before sailing

2. How long does the trip last? The tour takes about 2 to 3 hours depending on wind and sea conditions.

3. What about children? In general we do not encourage children under the age of 10 although we have no rule. Please understand that this is a working vessel and consider if your children would enjoy the experience, they must be supervised at all times and there is little room to move around. Nobody knows your kids better than you so if you think it's something they would enjoy and not be a problem for other passengers, we welcome your decision.

4. How will I know what to do on the boats? Before the race you will attend a briefing, during which we will give a little history of the America's Cup. A skipper will brief you about what you can expect and give you training in your specific crew position.

5. What should we bring? You may bring bags and towels etc. as there is dry storage below decks on the boats.

6. What sort of shoes should we wear? It is best to wear soft soled shoes. Certainly no high heels nor black soles that will scuff.

7. Can I bring my camera or will it get damaged? You can bring your camera. Except for rain, it’s unusual for any water to come into the boat.

8. Will we be able to get something to drink on board the boats? There are complimentary drinks on board: water, soda, and sometimes beer.

9. Are there restrooms on the boats? There are no toilets/heads on board our yachts, although there are plenty back at the compound. Be sure to go before you leave if you think you won't last 3 hours. An uncomfortable emergency port-a-potty is on board for extreme emergencies.

10. Will I need to bring any money with me? You might like to bring money for crew gratuity if deemed appropriate, and perhaps you would like to purchase a souvenir of your exciting sail.

11. What souvenirs do you sell? Back at our dock or on-line we sell t-shirts, caps, polo shirts, jackets, etc. We also frequently have a professional photographer on board taking pictures that may be purchased.

12. Do you accept credit cards or US dollars?
We accept US Cash, Travelers Checks, Visa Card, Master Card, American Express and Discover cards.

We look forward to seeing you on the Bay!
